W—A—L—K—E—R is an architectural practice based in England. Established in 2018 by Jonathan Walker after 10 years working in several practices including the office of RIBA Gold Medal recipient Sir Nicholas Grimshaw.

The studio was established to undertake research in architecture that engages with a number of recurring interests and with a conviction in the creative design process.

The central issues of architecture that underpin the work are; the material qualities of construction and spatial atmosphere: the idiosyncrasies of occupation and use: human scale, experience and perception: the nature of light and universal forces: and a responsibility to the land and materials.

The studio consists of a small international team of young architects that consider projects as vehicles for ideas in construction, space, and organisation, which explore atmosphere and inhabitation.

Recent commissions include an art house cinema in London, a home for a cancer charity, and a summerhouse in Sweden, aswell as private homes. We are always seeking new opportunities to cultivate ideas in architecture and to foster successful collaborations and build ongoing relationships. All enquiries are welcome.
